Spring Concert INFO

Hello Parents!

As we move into our third trimester we start looking ahead at our Spring Concert. I have officially booked a date with Wood for our spring concert which is MAY 12th @ 7pm! Please make arrangements to attend and as always this is a free concert open to anyone and everyone so please bring the whole family. This concert will again feature all three of our instrumental ensembles (Guitar Ensemble, Wind Ensemble, and Orchestra)! 

Many of you know my wife Lisa and I are currently expecting our first little one very soon, May 17th if anyone is counting. The concert will go on WITH OR WITHOUT ME! I have made arrangements with Mrs. Ferrio, Mr. Gooding and Mr. Dair so in the event I am unable to attend the show WILL go on. 

Lastly I would like to address some of our snow makeups! Once we get a bit closer to the concert and the kids have a good bit of music under their fingers we will be adding some additional rehearsals to make up any missed time (plus some extra). This is the best way I have found to make up any missed time, It is the most productive time for extra rehearsals so please keep an eye on the blog and your emails for exact times and dates as the come. Thanks again for all your support!

Woodwind lessons rescheduled today 3/19/15

Hello Parents,

I apologize for the short notice however with our PAWS show just a day away I am going to have to reschedule our after school lessons for the kids today! I have a number of parents coming in to decorate the hall and finish setting up the last of our sets and props. I will still have lunch recess lessons today so the kids will need their instruments. I will make up their lesson portion some time next week (Tuesday 3/24/15) when my schedule opens back up. Sorry again for the short notice we tried our best to finish up last night but just ran out of time!

Welcome Back!

Hello Band Parents!

Welcome back to school! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Years break. It is time to jump right back into the swing of things here in 2015. The winter session of Band Lessons will begin next week, starting on January 12th and run until March 16th. Please begin sending your winter tuition payments in. Checks may be made out to Nativity Bands LLC. Mr. Dair, Mrs. Ferrio, Mr. Gooding and I are looking forward to continuing our work with your talented students. Christmas Concert

Hello all,
I want to take this opportunity to express how proud I am of the job the Strings (as well as the other ensembles) did on their Christmas Concert. I saw excitement in all of my students and I am really happy to have seen that. All sounded really good. Job well done Strings!!! I can't wait to start back up in January. See you all then!!

Christmas Concert Update

Hello Parents,

Well our Christmas concert is less than a week away! The kids have really been working hard on all their songs and to be honest it's beginning to sound a lot like Christmas! Please note the concert has been MOVED to Archbishop Wood due to confessions in the church. The details for the show are below as well as for our dress rehearsal on monday thanks again for all your support! See you Tuesday night!

Date: Tuesday Dec 16th

When: 7:30pm-8:30pm

Where: Archbishop Wood High School

Student dress: School uniform + fun Christmas sock, shoes, hats, ties...go crazy it should be fun!

Call time for band members: 7:00pm please report to the band room for tuning and warm up

This week has been a bit crazy with our Anne's Choice Choir and being off on Monday. Mr. Dair would like to Make up the missed guitar lessons from Monday (Dec 8th) TOMORROW (Friday Dec 12th) after school. Beginner Guitar 3:30-4:00 Intermediate Guitar 4:00-4:30. Drum Lesson students will meet with the Intermediate Guitar students from 4:00-4:30. If this poses a conflict for anyone please let me know via E-mail. 

Dress Rehearsal Information:

MONDAY December 15th from 3:30pm-5:00pm will be a dress rehearsal for the concert. ALL students in Guitar Ensemble, Orchestra, and Wind Ensemble will please stay after school for us to try to run through the whole concert. This will be our chance to work through our concert order as well as getting the kids comfortable moving on an off stage and knowing when they are going to play what! It will also allow us to make up some of the time we missed over Thanksgiving and Halloween. Attendance is Mandatory (pending any family emergencies) please do your best to make arrangements for your students to attend. (Students do not need to be "dressed up" in christmas gear for the dress rehearsal)
